2005-04-04 - 3:29 p.m. You might have noticed that it's been a few days. What with the computers at work going south and having little time at home, my "journal" muscle hasn't been getting much exercise and I can tell, because it's growing a spare tire. I'm in the city by the bay. Well...not exactly, but I can see it out the window. The family and I are in Oakland staying with my wife's brother and his fiancé - we're here for the wedding. His parents are here at the house too and we're all having a grand time. My brother-in-law owns a Muy Thai kickboxing gym in downtown Oakland; he's a former pro fighter and earned the cruiser-weight championship belt at one time. He's a hell of a nice guy and so's his wife to be. My wife's parents are wonderful folks too. They're very laid back and in fact, they're partially reformed hippies. The time away from responsibility is nice; it's the first chance I have had to sit back and relax without a care in the world. Coming here has made me realize just how much I miss California too. It's so green here and so sunny. My favorite thing is how many different kinds of trees, bushes, flowers and other kinds of greenery grow here wild. We're talking about moving out this way. I think we might do it. Think, think, think...
