I feel satisfied.
This weekend was a whirlwind of activity. Let me just fill you in on what I think may have been brought on by some crack that I didn't know I smoked.
I started my weekend by taking my van in for repairs at 8:00 am on Saturday. When I got home I rolled up my sleeves, grabbed a shovel and removed the sod from a 15 X 15 patch of ground in the back yard; folks, this is the old fashioned way of doing the job and I don't recommend trying it, unless you're a masicist. The sun was mighty hot, so I changed into some shorts and a tank top, grabbed a rotor tiller and went to town digging 18" into the earth to make a nice bed for a garden.
Then I pulled out my new lawn mower - we've got a lot more lawn than I thought and about one quarter of it is on a steep slope into a ravine. It was hot work, but I didn't quit...I grabbed a rake and started tearing up the dirt in the front yard. We have a large bald area in the front yard left over from the previous owner's giagantoid evergreen tree, which is now gone; I then seeded the area and wet it all down. Before I was done I had dug a flower bed half the length of the front of the house too.
Then I went out back and did some pruining to prep an area nestled in the trees for a little bench and some ferns.
Today I got up and cleaned the entire garage, which was a big job - everything moved out, garage cleaned and then it started raining so everythinng had to move back in. If it hadn't rained I was going to paint the walls and paint the floor with garage-floor-paint.
I put up a bunch of hooks for hanging the bike and ladder and a few other things. I mounted a hose roller to the outside of the house too and then I vacuumed and cleaned my wife's car - I even did the windows. After that I cleaned up the laundry/utility room and moved a bunch of stuff from here..to there.
Oh yeah, I tore apart one of the upstairs toilets and repaired the equipment inside the tank too.
I'm mighty tired folks and I may just die from the effort, as I'm near ancient, but I feel like I got a few things done.
Hey, my birthday is next month...if I live to see it.
