I'm not usually one to make such statements, but (for the record) I DO NOT support president Bush's war in Iraq.
I do not claim a polital affiliation, because I do not believe in the system and I fear my government, though I love my country - the people who run this country today are, in my oppinion, self-serving.
A couple of years ago I took steps to back-up my opposition to the war - after 17 years of military service, only three years from retirement, I separated from the US Air Force. I did this, in part, because I could not consciously wear the uniform, lead junior military members, and follow the orders of my seniors when I knew full well that I did not fully believe in the cause for which the military is being used.
Today I still work in the same business, but attempt to dedicate my efforts to saving the lives of those who are truely faced with the war. One of my greatest frustrations is trying to find a way to leave behind this career and completely detatch myself from the governement and its ill intentions.
It's not enough to be a good American anymore - it's time to be a good global citizen.
