Now that I have a moment...WHEW!
I need to step back and take a deep breath. In the last week I have flown away from my family, worked more hours than God, and found out that I have Limes disease. Fortunately, my family is well, God is impressed, and I'm being treated for the Limes (it seems to be going well).
So, I'm in the little town of Waxahachie, Texas at a small airbase. I don't normally talk about work, but I'll make an exception this time, because it's cool AND unclassified.
We're flying a couple of different aircraft, with a bunch of different camera systems and we're collecting data on areas where dangerous chemicals (of various sorts) have leaked into the water or onto land. Our job is to try and identify the chemicals and give enough information to get clean-up and rescue crews in as safely as possible - we don't want our Marines wading through open sewage or chemicals to get to where they need to go.
That's the basics of what I'm doing. Say, if any of you are in the area, let me know and we'll get together and go sing some Karaoke!
